Why watch history matters
YouTube uses your watch and search history to recommend videos. That is helpful for study playlists, but on a shared family phone or a classroom laptop it can show private interests to others, fill your home page with distracting videos, and keep a long record of what you watched.
See and delete history
- Open YouTube → profile picture → Your data in YouTube (or go to myactivity.google.com → YouTube History).
- Delete single videos with the ✕, or use Delete → Delete today / custom range / all time.
- In the YouTube app you can also tap Library/You → History → ⋮ → Clear all watch history.
- To remove one video from recommendations: ⋮ on the video → Not interested or Don’t recommend channel.
Pause or auto-delete

More privacy settings
- Profile → Settings → Privacy: keep subscriptions and saved playlists private.
- Comments and channel name are public – do not use your full name, school or city if you are a student.
- Uploaded videos: choose Unlisted for class videos (only people with the link can see) or Private.
- Turn off Location in uploads and remove faces of children unless parents agree.
For children and study focus
- Under-13s: use the YouTube Kids app or a supervised Google account via Family Link.
- Teens: Family Link supervised experience lets parents choose content settings.
- For study: make a playlist of chosen lessons and open videos from it instead of the home feed; turn off Autoplay (toggle on the player).
- Use Take a break and bedtime reminders (Settings → General).

- Profile → Settings → Privacy: subscriptions और saved playlists private रखें।
