4 LessonsFrequently Asked Questions
Why Kotlin and not Java for Android?
Google recommends Kotlin for Android. It is shorter, safer (null safety) and all new Android libraries are Kotlin-first. If you know Java, Kotlin feels familiar quickly.
Does this course use XML layouts or Jetpack Compose?
It uses XML layouts with View Binding, the approach still used in most existing apps and college syllabi, so you learn every classic view, layout and the navigation drawer.
What computer do I need for Android Studio?
A 64-bit Windows, macOS or Linux computer. 16 GB RAM is comfortable; 8 GB works if you test on a real phone instead of the emulator.
Will I build a complete app?
Yes. The last module builds a full Student Diary app with drawer, bottom navigation, Room database, reminders and settings, and shows how to publish it on the Play Store.
