QR Code Scan and Create: Safe Practical Guide
Use QR codes for links, forms, payments and attendance while avoiding fake QR risks.
Scan a QR code
- Android: open the camera and point at the code (or use Google Lens / the QR tile in Quick Settings). Tap the link that appears.
- iPhone: open the Camera; a yellow link appears – tap it.
- Windows: the Camera app has a Barcode/QR scanner mode; or use your phone and send the link to yourself.
- From a screenshot: open the image in Google Lens or Google Photos → Lens.
You do not need a separate “QR scanner” app – many of them are full of ads and ask for unnecessary permissions.
Scan safely
- Read the link before opening. A restaurant menu QR should open the restaurant’s site, not a login page or an APK download.
- Payment QR: scanning a QR to pay always sends money. Nobody needs you to scan a QR to receive money – that is a scam.
- Check that a printed QR (parking, shop, electricity bill) is not a sticker pasted over the original.
- Do not enter passwords or OTP on pages opened from posters or random QR codes.
- Never install apps from a QR link outside the Play Store/App Store.

Printing tips
- Print at least 2 × 2 cm; for posters read from far, bigger (about 1/10 of the scanning distance).
- Dark code on a white/light background with a white border around it.
- Use static QR codes for permanent prints; “dynamic” QR services can stop working if the subscription ends.
- Write the short link below the QR for people without a scanner.
- Test the printed QR with two different phones before printing 500 copies.

Print के tips
