What the numbers mean

Mbps vs MB/s: internet speed is in megabits per second; downloads show megabytes. 1 byte = 8 bits, so a 100 Mbps plan downloads at about 11–12 MB/s at best.

Add the needs of everyone using the connection at the same time and keep 30–40% extra.
Run a fair test
- Use fast.com, speedtest.net or Google “internet speed test”.
- Pause downloads, updates and video on other devices.
- Test once near the router and once where you actually work.
- For Wi-Fi vs the plan: test with a LAN cable if possible – that shows the true connection speed.
- Test at different times (morning and 9 pm); evening slowdowns point to network congestion.
If it is slow

Mbps बनाम MB/s: internet speed megabits प्रति सेकंड में होती है; downloads megabytes दिखाते हैं। 1 byte = 8 bits, इसलिए 100 Mbps plan अधिकतम लगभग 11–12 MB/s पर download करता है।

सही test चलाएँ

HD video के लिए हर student को लगभग 3–4 Mbps download और upload, ping लगभग 50 ms से कम और packet loss नहीं। घर में ज़्यादा users हों तो ज़्यादा चाहिए।
मेरी download speed MB/s में plan से कम क्यों है?
Plans megabits (Mbps) में होते हैं; downloads megabytes (MB/s) दिखाते हैं। Mbps को 8 से भाग दें: 100 Mbps ≈ अधिकतम 12.5 MB/s, असल में थोड़ा कम।
Speed test में ping क्या है?
